One of the most important campaign settings is the Ad Rotation. This option allows your ads to rotate based on a few different option settings. The different options are listed below:
- Optimize for Conversions
- Optimize for Clicks
- Rotate than Optimize after 90 days
- Rotate Indefinitley
Different PPC campaigns have different goals which will determine which option is best for you. The optimize for conversions or for clicks options can really play a factor in your click through and goal conversion rates.
For example, when you are really trying to increase your click through rates, changing from rotate indefinitely to optimize for clicks will help. This will show the ads with the higher CTR rates more often leading to more clicks from the current number of impressions you are already receiving.
Another example would be when wanting to show many different ads equally to do your own A/B testing. The best option for this example would be rotate indefinitely would be best so that an equal amount of clicks go to each of the ads. Then you can choose which ads get the best results to move forward with.
Having PPC marketing targets or goals is the first step when creating or optimizing a Google AdWords account. Knowing these goals will allow you to choose which ad rotation is best for you.
